The Right Size for a Business Card Design

Don't let frustration get the best of your own creativity! When using a common drawing or photo editing program to design your business card for our printing, please consider the printed final size and what boundaries you need to contain.
A standard business card is 2 inches by 3.5 inches, either vertical or horizontical. Most business cards today have what is commonly known in the print industry as a "bleed". To acomplish a bleed, please design your business card with any image that can be cut through to extend .125" beyond the edge. Do not place text closer than .25" inside the image live area. Make sure your artwork and text are to your liking, and please, save them as a PDF at 300 dpi or higher for optimum output.
